Shopify Developer

Vodjo is currently seeking a Shopify Developer responsible for both backend and frontend development, including building custom Shopify themes and apps. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and design sensibilities (understanding layout, typography, and user experience). The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of e-commerce trends and Shopify’s ecosystem. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred, along with a solid understanding of the full web development lifecycle—from concept to deployment.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience building and customizing Shopify themes using Liquid
• Familiarity with Shopify’s admin system, including product, collection, and metafield management
• Ability to design and develop responsive websites optimized for performance and usability
• Comfortable using browser debugging tools like Chrome DevTools
• Ability to translate wireframes and mockups into clean, functional code
• Experience integrating third-party apps and APIs into Shopify stores
• Understanding of Shopify’s checkout and cart functionalities
• Experience with Shopify CLI and theme versioning

Desired Skills

• Experience developing custom Shopify apps using Node.js or Ruby
• Knowledge of REST and GraphQL APIs, especially Shopify Storefront and Admin APIs
• Familiarity with headless commerce and frameworks like Next.js or Hydrogen
• Proficient in Git and version control workflows
• Experience with Shopify Plus features and limitations
• Understanding of SEO best practices for e-commerce
• Knowledge of Linux server environments is a plus
